Ahoy Friends!

This week went by so fast I can't believe it! We're in the last week of the cambio now and then I'll get a new comp here in Frontera! We had a pretty dang good week I'd say. This week we didn't have any baptisms but we found quite a few new people to teach and we're hoping we'll be able to baptize them in the next cambio! One of the people we found is a 14 year old boy named Alexis who we contacted at his house. We don't contact much but for some for some reason we bumped into him and he is actually loving the church! We've been teaching the lessons and stuff and if he can come to church more he wants to be baptized in a few weeks! He is an awesome kid and I think he's gonna progress super fast hahaha. This last friday we did divisions with another companionship in our district because my comp had to do some interviews. I stayed here in Frontera with a little Peruvian named Elder Florez and who was freaking funny hahaha. He lives in Lima and he thought it was hyped that Hunt served in Arequipa! He was telling me all about the culture and stuff down there and about the Guinea pigs that they eat called Cuy or something? It sounded dope hahaha. We just visited people all day and then Albrecht and the comp of  Florez came back to Frontera.  Florez and Jales got stuck here because there were no more taxis or combis driving back to their area because it was too late! They had to crash at our house which was quite the adventure might I say hahaha. They said that my spanish is getting pretty good though so that made me super pumped!

We're going to have another baptism this week! His name is Kevin and he is 9, super awesome kid. His whole family went inactive so he never got baptized but we've been visiting them and everything so they're coming back to church! It's a pretty for sure baptism but honestly you never know with some of the people down here hahaha.

Today for p-day we didn't do much.  Just cleaned house and went to chill at the bishops! His wife made us some bomb tostadas that were freaking amazing. Well, that's pretty much my week. We didn't do anything for Thanksgiving because people have no idea what it is here. hahahah That's ok though cause only one more month until Christmas!

Love you all! Good luck this week.

What up fam?!

First, Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Amigos!  I am so thankful for your love and support. This last week had its high and low moments for sure hahahaha. We actually had a pretty successful week with finding people which was dope! But at the same time we barely had any time to work. lol This week it rained for 3 straight days soooo hard and believe it or not it was actually "cold" hahaha It was like 60 which is freezing for the people hear! There were people in like full snow clothes and it was so funny hahaha.  Since the weather was so bad we had to stay inside pretty much all day Wednesday and Thursday so it got pretty boring let me tell you hahaha. That's ok though. Nothing can stop us!

Friday we had Zone Conference which was awesome as always! I always love conference just because it switches things up a bit and you can see everyone. We had 3 zones there so there were about 60 missionaries! President Haws taught us about the importance of working with members and keeping a good relationship with the people in our areas. He also talked about how we need to make sure to treat our investigators as people and not as numbers. Sometimes the missionaries here get too carried away with reaching our baptism goals and things get less important, but we're here to baptize people not numbers!

At the conference I also got pulled aside because president wanted to talk to me about Grandpa's passing. I'm not gonna lie, I just wanted to go home when I heard about it. I know that I have a job to do here. I'm here to help people understand the plan of God and that we can see our loved ones again! I'm always going to think about that and will never forget good ole Gramps! Love that guy and can't wait to see him again.

Also, I got all of my packages!!! I am so freaking pumped! hahahah Thank you!!! Nothing like my birthday in November! All of that stuff is gonna last me a long time and people have already been trying to trade for my ties hahaha. Today we went and played futball with the zone which is always a good time. Other than that we just went to eat some tacos and chill! This next week we won't have any baptisms but in the next week we should have at least one but hopefully more! It's has been an awesome week but hoping we can do even better this week!

Love you all and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

What's up people!

Another week has gone bye and we're already half way done with the cambio! So crazy! This week was pretty uneventful I have to say. We walked around a ton in balls hot weather and only taught a couple of lessons. No one really wanted to talk to us this week. hahahaha. The work is still moving along though! We aren't going to have a baptism this week and I don't think the next week but then we should have another 1 or 2 the last week of the transfer!

I had a weird yet mind blowing experience this last week though. So, in the morning I was studying my scriptures like usual and for some reason started reading in 1 John. I came across this scripture that I had never read before in 1 John 4: 8 that says "Whosoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." And I thought dang! that is such a cool scripture! Then later that day we were in a lesson with this couple named Nelio and Lady, and Lady told us she was reading in the bible that morning in freaking 1 John and then quote the freaking scripture!! I was like what the heck?!  Did that just happen?! hahahahaha It was soooo weird but such a cool experience! So crazy how the Lord guides us to help those in our lives that need him.

We did divisions with the zone leaders this last Friday and it actually made me feel super good about my spanish! I was with this little guy from Honduras named Elder Antunez who doesn't speak a word of English and it wasn't hard at all to talk to him all day. So pumped for this next transfer because I should be getting a latino comp and that's when my spanish will improve the most.

Today we didn't do much because really there isn't that much to do here. We went to this place to get these smoothie things called Chamoyadas and they were the best things in my freaking life! hahaha  Then we went to hangout with some members in the ward and now we're here! Just the day I needed though.

We have Zone conference this next week and I always get super excited for conference because we get to see a bunch of other people and also I get my packages!!!! Hahahaha  Well that's all I've got for this week!

Love you all!!! and Remember . . .The Church is True!

Week 14 . . . Two Baptisms! Heck Ya Baby!!!

Two Baptisms heck ya baby!!

It was quite the exciting week I have to say! It was suuuuper busy because we had to fit everything in by like 6pm everyday, for El Dia de Los Muertos. It is just too dangerous for us to be out but we got everything done and done RIGHT! On Thursday we had the baptisms of Ernesto and Irven and it was freaking dope! They were super excited and I can already tell they are going to progress super fast in the church. Yesterday at church they were confirmed and then after Irven, who is 17, got up and shared his testimony in sacrament!!! I was like, holy balls, I don't even do that and I've been a member of the church my whole life! hahahaha What a freaking beast!  Am i right?! He has such a strong testimony of the savior. He wants to go to the temple so bad so the bishop is going to give him an interview this week. I think they're going to go to the temple in a couple weeks! How dope is that?! hahahah Talk about a testimony builder for me right there! Irven will do great things in the church and in his life.  He is just that kind of person.  I already know, he's so excited to learn and grow it's honestly inspiring!

Other than the baptism it was a pretty chill week! A bunch of members wanted to give us food and candy and cake and stuff for the holiday. It was dope! hahahah We had this BOMB tres leches and you know it was legit cause a freaking Mexican lady made it!!! hahahah Some of the food wasn't that good though hahaha We ate at this one hermanas house this week and when we got there I looked at the plate and it was legit, just half of a fish! hahahaha and you know how I like fish! It really didn't taste bad it was just looking at it that made it so weird to eat! We also found this homemade ice cream place in the middle of nowhere and they had pistachio ice cream!!!! You already know I was willing to pay anything for that hahaha even though it was only like 15 pesos which is less than a dollar! It's nice to have some stuff that reminds you of home.  Everyone who actually knows me knows that I freaking love ice cream.

Today we didn't do much just went to the markets and looked around and stuff but it was exactly what I needed. Last week made me so tired for some reason. hahaha This week should be some good stuff too though! I don't think we'll have another baptism but we're hoping to get a few in the water next week! I just can't believe it's November already. hahahah Talk about time flying! Can't wait to see what we can do this week!

Love you all and the church is true!!!
